Dirty Jobs - part deux

So it was quite the professional endeavor I hear.  They flew in a director from Denver, a cameraman from LA and hired a sound person and grip from Seattle.  Dave was surprised how many times he had to do the scenes until the shot was done.  Either he would muck up the lines or it would be fine but they wanted a different angle etc. so they ended up doing a lot of stuff over and over again.  They kept calling him "the talent" which was good for the ego I think.  He even had to do some voice over stuff at the end.  Not surprisingly, the show sounds like it is going to be really funny.  The bummer is he won't even get to see it because he leaves tomorrow for the UAE to see his sister.  We hope to get a copy of it though when he gets back. 

If we get the OK, I am thinking about having a Dirty Jobs party over here and everyone can watch the show and see "the talent" in action.

Halloween!

Why do toddlers smile like this when you ask them to smile?

Well we survived 2 Halloween parties in the last week culminating in a super fun Halloween last night.  We had the Roeder Home party, then on Monday my friend Angie had a kids party for all the neighborhood kids.  Last night we had our neighborhood party which included yummy hot dogs a fire and lots of cute kids.  The kids had a great time playing Flyer's Up most of the night and then Dave took the boys trick-or-treating while I stayed home with a nice glass of wine and a sugared up toddler.  Ella and I watched a movie (The lion king......again)  :) 

   

Party Party Party!

Last night we had our annual Roeder Home Halloween Party - the kids had a great time.

This is my sister Amy and I.  She has the two adorable girls - Hannah & Madeline.

I spent most of the night behind the fishing booth:

We dressed up as the Weasleys from Harry Potter. 

I don't really like to sew (due to lack of knowledge and time) so I "sewed" our capes with stitch witchery.  I thought I was a total genius until they all started to fray.  Oh well.

My sister Amy sewed the most amazing costumes for her girls - they were absolutely beautiful.  Sorry for the bad picture - my camera has decided it perpetually needs new batteries and has begun to randomly not work!  We also had a talent show this year and Avery got up and played the harmonica - it was so cool.  Talk about a proud mama!  He just made up a song a few days ago and he did a great job playing it in front of the whole group.
